Sacraw Financial Corp. is a Canadian travel insurance brokerage founded by travellers — people who’ve spent years crossing borders, reading fine print the hard way, and learning what coverage actually does when it’s tested abroad.

Why we exist

Travel insurance is one of the most misunderstood products Canadians buy. Most travellers assume their credit card, employer benefits, or provincial health plan has them covered — and most only discover otherwise in the exact moment they can’t afford to. A medical emergency overseas, when the hospital asks for a guarantee of payment before treatment begins. A cancelled flight during a weather event, with a connecting carrier that won’t answer the phone. A lost bag, a stolen wallet, a delayed diagnosis that turns a trip into something else entirely.

We built Sacraw Financial because we’d lived those moments — or stood close enough to people who had — to know that the gap between assumed coverage and actual coverage is where travellers get hurt. Brokering better coverage, we decided, was a more useful response than warning people about the problem.

How we work

Sacraw Financial is a brokerage, not an underwriter. Our role is to match each traveller with the right policy for their specific trip, risk profile, and destination — and to make sure they understand what that policy actually covers before they board the plane.

Policies sold on sacraw.com are underwritten by Industrial Alliance Insurance and Financial Services Inc. and administered by TuGo Insurance — a carrier and administrator we’ve vetted ourselves. We don’t carry every product on the market, and we don’t try to. We carry coverage we’d buy for ourselves and recommend to people we know.
