The IRCC rule, in plain English
To be approved for a Super Visa (for parents and grandparents of Canadian citizens / permanent residents), the applicant must have valid Canadian medical insurance that:
- is from a Canadian insurance company (or an approved provider) IRCC rule
- provides at least $100,000 CAD in emergency medical coverage $100,000 minimum
- is valid for at least 1 year from the date of entry 1-year minimum
- covers healthcare, hospitalization and repatriation
- is paid in full (or via an approved instalment plan) and valid for each entry to Canada
